MICRO-EMULSION SOLVENTS
They are 50% petro-chemical solvents and they are made to blend with water. They don't work very well and there are some difficult waste issues to address. With so much water in the solvent, it is expensive to burn as a hazardous waste or to reclaim the solvents. It is not appropriate to discharge the solvent/water mixture into a sewer which flows to a waste water treatment facility. What one is left with is a solvent which does not work well and presents difficult and expensive disposal/reclamation issues. Exposure is limited, but again present. Micro-emulsion solvents are truly moving targets in terms of environmental regulations. Not acceptable.
WATER BASED EMULSIFICATION OR SAPONIFICATION TECHNOLOGY
The basic premise is to get a water based parts cleaning solution to do what a petro-chemical solvent will do. This approach used emulsification to clean rather than using a petro-chemical to dissolve. The technology uses hydrocarbon compatible surfactants to break up what needs to be cleaned and then emulsifiers hold oils in solution. Saponification converts oils to soaps. But water based emulsification and saponification do not work as fast or as well as a petro-chemical solvents. They don't last as long as petro-chemical solvents. They quickly become a large volume of potentially hazardous waste which require handling or disposal, as often, if not more often, than the solvents they replace. Disposing contaminated water can be costly. Economically this is not the best solution.
WATER BASED pH SOLUTIONS
Whether water based pH solutions are caustic or acidic, they have some similarities. They work very well for specific and controlled applications usually under high pressure and high temperatures during hands-off automated parts washing operations. When you try to get into hands-on situations, problems arise because they don't cut a lot of greases at low temperatures without high pressure. There are often odor problems. High or low pH can be painful when working by hand with the solutions. Sometimes high pH solutions have butyl kickers added. A hazardous constituent. Not acceptable.
BIOFORCE PARTS CLEANER
This product is a low heat, no odor, low alkaline pH, no rust, 100% petro-chemical free solution, which when correctly applied works as well, if not better than, a petro-chemical solvent. This product recycles on-site indefinitely, without losing cleaning power. The solution and process also produces a consistent and easily handled waste product. By volume, waste generation is reduced by 90 - 98% and enables the generator to eliminate their hazardous waste status.
